We have officially and successfully made it through our first two full weeks of school and we sure have been busy.  Here is a quick recap of what we have been up to:

  • We have been relearning the Woodruff Expectations: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
  • We having been learning all the new fourth grade classroom routines and procedures.
  • We have been really focusing on Model Drawing in Math in hopes that it will help us successfully solve word problems all year long!
  • In Comprehension, we have been learning about the different types of text structure and focusing on comparing and contrasting.
  • In Science, we are learning about vertebrates and invertebrates and all of their different characteristics.
  • We have been listening to Mrs. Gish read one of her favorite books, Indian in the Cupboard.  It is so good that some students even decided to check it out from the library and finish on their own!  Be sure to ask about it.
Also, last week in Science we had a lot of fun learning about the scientific process.  We got to do many different experiments and then write down our hypotheses, observations, and conclusions.

Lastly, a big thank you to those who generously donated classroom supplies!  We sure do appreciate the help and support!

Hello, Woodruff students and parents!
I am so excited to start another year and to have you be a part of my class.  On this blog I will be keeping you updated on what's going on in the classroom.  It will include upcoming events, what we will be learning, what to expect for homework, etc.

E-mail is definitely the best and fastest way to get a hold of me, which is why I have placed my address at the top of this blog.   PLEASE feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns you might have.  You can also post questions or comments on these posts as well, but keep in mind that they will be seen by others.

Thank you for your support and letting me be a part of your child's life this year.  I truly love my job and all the adventures that come with it.  I can't wait to see what this year will bring!
